Orange and Turquoise

Before Pantone announced the color of the year, we were already seeing lots of orange. After the pronouncement of Tangerine Tango, I see orange everywhere. I see it paired with turquoise more than any other color. My perspective on color is also influenced by my store. It's always so interesting for me to see what colors are selling. I sell a variety, of course, but the orange/turquoise combination is very popular. Does anyone know the process by which the color of the year is chosen by Pantone? I'm sure I could find it in a matter of clicks, and I'll try to remember to work on that. I think it would be fascinating to know more about that process.
