Off Topic Tuesday -- Getting Ready for Spring
Winter's done a number on my skin. Having the heater on constantly just doesn't work for me. I'm seeing such dryness and some new fine lines. I am a very low maintenance lady. I believe it's my ADD. I cannot spend time on facial creams/potions/serums or make-up application. Have you been seeing the Clarisonic everywhere, like I have? I went to the mall Sunday before last and picked one up. It just adds one minute to the day, so I'm willing to give it a try. And it's less expensive than lots of the lotions/potions/serums out there, too. I chose the Mia. I don't think all the bells and whistles on the more expensive options are necessary for me. Do any of you have one? What do you think? I've been using mine for about a week and I'm seeing changes already. It's too soon for me to make a recommendation, but I'll tell you what I'm thinking in a few weeks.
I also needed some wardrobe staples. I like to buy things that I can wear year after year and aren't too trendy. Like I said earlier, low maintenance. I also mentioned having a 15 year old daughter, and I like to dress my age. I love J. Crew for everyday. They have options for my daughter's age and options for me. I picked up the above and below during my recent trip to the mall.
This cardigan is on sale now. The J. Crew photo isn't accurate for color, but mine is.
I got the above, too. That lilac cardigan looks good with the blue and white stripe and the plain white shirt.
And this navy cardigan works with just about everything I have. I need to get another before they're gone.
Are you a fan of the Liberty Shirt? I think I'm now obsessed. I have three new ones, one of which a cannot find a photo to share. But, I can tell you they are so soft and work with everything. My sister's has several from 5or 6 years ago that she still wears and they look fantastic.
I have this
And this. LOVE them both.
That brings me to the matchstick cropped white jean. I have to have white cropped jeans. People here will start wearing them right after Easter. I tried these on while I was at J. Crew, but they're a bit too low rise for me. I was happy with every other aspect. So, I'm on a quest for the perfect cropped white jeans. If you know of something that fits the bill, please let me know.
These are the every day jeans I wear. Except, I wear a shirt, and ballet flats instead of stilettos. They need to make these in white and crop them at the ankle for summer. If you possess any influence with this company please do your best to persuade them to give us white, cropped jeans in this fit. That would pretty much take care of the bottom half of my uniform from late Spring all the way though the summer. What about you? Have you been doing any shopping in anticipation of the warmer weather?
