The Blue and White Bash + The Lowdown on Link Ups
If you've never seen one of my Blue and White Bashes, you can do so here, here and here. They're linking parties where bloggers link up their beautiful blue and white posts here at TPP for everyone to enjoy all the gorgeousness. I'm having the next one February 3rd, and I would absolutely love for you to join me. If you're a reader, just bring a cup of coffee that day and plan to stay awhile. If you're a blogger, please link up.
You can share a post on blue and white interiors.
Howard Slakin
Or, blue and white accessories.
You can feature blue and white on the table,
Apparel,
Jewelry,
Even the beach!
Another thing to consider is that you can create a new post for The Bash, or use an existing post. Either is welcome.
Now, for some info on the ins and outs of linking up. When I've hosted a Blue and White Bash, I've received emails from people worried about the process of linking up. They've anticipated that it will be complicated. The reality is that if you've ever created and published a blog post, linking up to another blog will be a breeze. All you have to do to link your post to a linking party is copy your post's URL (the actual web address of your post) before going to the blog where you'll be a guest. There'll be a gadget/widget you can't miss, and you click on that. The directions are very simple, and it just takes a few seconds. Give it a try! If I can do it, anyone can.
So, now that we've covered the technical aspects, I'll share a bit of information on the etiquette of being a link up guest. Linking parties are lots of fun, but they're also beneficial. They're a great source of traffic for your blog. The traffic is not coming just from the host. It's cyclical. The participants are supposed to mention the linking party and link to it at the top of the first page of their blogs. If that happens, every blogger participating is helping to drive the traffic of the party. Basically, to not follow this guideline is unsportsmanlike behavior in which you would never participate : )
There may be other information regarding link ups that I'm omitting as I'm fairly new to this. I may add more at a later time, but if you have any tips or guidelines that we should know, please share.
I hope I'll see you at The Blue and White Bash!
